Hi Fin Sharks for Algae Control

akarinzMay 22, 2014

Like everyone else, I struggled with spring time string/algae bloom. I used an algaecide, which I hated, because I saw it was hard on the fish.

Every time I would go to different koi places, I would ask what they do for algae control. Two months ago, I was told about hi fin sharks. I purchased a couple of baby hi fin sharks (not really sharks). I have no string algae whatsoever and wish I had found these a long time ago.

Anyone else have any experience with these?

Yes, those are the ones...and still no string algae this year. They stay on the bottom and sides of the pond. When I think of all the years I struggled with string algae...I'm so glad I got them.
