Anyone know if using a system like this would be benificial and practical for growing this plant?

yes, they thrive extremely well with hydro systems.

The plant share the same general fundamentals as basil and mint families, these basils and mints do well in sparing nutrient based meduims, but offer them a good old hydro dose of nutz and watch them grOW.
