Hydrangea quercifolia 'Roanoke'

Oops.. originally posted on the images forum...

One of my more crazy questions, I know. I was planning on planting a Harmony oakleaf, but then somewhere on the web I read that Roanoke was a little better behaved and perhaps had somewhat stronger stems. Since we used to live in Roanoke, I thought "Why not? It would be nice to have some sort of connection to our past."

So, I set out on a fruitless search for Roanoke. Does anyone know where I can find this plant? I only need one...

They is very similar as in the big ole blooms weigh down the stems when wet but the flowers have a slightly more open form to them. Check www.hydrangea.com to see if they have them. May have to wait a little if they have not restarted mailing or if they are out of stock & you have to wait until Spring.

Thanks Luis. I actually emailed them yesterday to see if they carry any but don't list them on the website. We'll see...

I'll probably just "settle" for Harmony!
