pyracantha

It might just be me, but it seems like this year the pyracantha has bloomed brighter than ever. I first noticed it in November on a trip to Washington, DC. My sister lives on the Hill and when we walked through the neighborhoods, they were just magnificent.

Back home, here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I've noticed them on our morning walks. I am planning to get a few as soon as the weather turns nicer and I feel like planting. Hopefully, they are low maintenance. I think I'm preferring the bright red berries over the orange.

What are your experiences with them? From everything I've read, they are fast growers. Thanks!

They are easy and do grow fast, they provide food for birds too. Watch the thorns, of course.
