Sword Bean?

Did you ever see a fatter, pinker bean? Yeah, I've grown em. Weird. :) arum

Just be careful if your intention is to eat them... do some research. Sword beans are another one of those semi-toxic legumes that are eaten by other cultures, as are hyacinth bean, jicama (eaten as pods), jack bean, and rice bean. Be sure to harvest & prepare them properly.

Incidentally, even the seeds of common beans & lima beans are toxic, if consumed raw.

These Sword Beans do NOT produse many beans. I don't see how anyone could make a meal of them. I mean, I got about ten beans, and they are so interesting because the bean is SO big, but goodness, they put out about two pods! Anywho, it's probably just the way I grow them,- not to good. :)
