string in wax beans

Do bush wax beans have a more prominant string the green? I noticed so far all the burpee hybrid varieties Ive tried seem stringy unless maybe when very young. Any favorite varieties? Thanks

Just a coincidence is all.

Although there are both stringed and stringless varieties of both, there are, proportionately, more older varieties with strings than not. But there are so many fewer varieties of wax beans, and so few of them are "modern", that it appears more of them have strings.

Just for the record, and despite what Burpee may say in order to discourage you from saving seed, there are no hybrid beans. At least no common beans (Phaseolus vulgaris), which includes all the wax- and green- beans

You are so right, thank you, great to know about the hybrids. I looked at burpees site, and they dont say hybrid. I had just assumed because almost everything there is hybrid. A packet of beans doesnt get that far, so good to know I can save the seeds. Something I really need to get into.
