Green Beans after Snow Peas?

buckeyebarry(7B)March 25, 2010

I have recently planted my spring crop of snow peas and snap peas but I was wondering if, when those plants are done in by the North Carolina heat, I can plant green beans in their place? Or will that be too late in the season to plant green beans?

Thank you!

Kristin, if NC is like this part of Oklahoma, I believe you can plant beans as a succession crop. I do it, usually planting pole beans in their place. They produce well, though the time is a bit tight for seed production. I pick them as snaps.
