Germinating Magnolia Seeds

gotedFebruary 21, 2005

Hi,

Has anyone tried germinating Magnolia seeds under lights?

Thanks.

I was thinking of trying M. delavayi.

I haven't tried this, but other seeds germinate fine under fluorescents.

Magnolia seeds need cold stratification and then cool conditions to germinate, not something I would normally try indoors with artifical light.
