Iris ID Needed Please

saltydad(7a)July 23, 2012

This is a beautiful iris that I had in the garden for a few years, then it disappeared. Unfortunately, I don't remember its name. Can enyone help, as I want to reintroduce it? Thanks.

The distinctive coloration makes it likely that it's one of Kasparek's. It's not an iris I grow, but it looks like it might be Grape Snakez. Here's a photo from Pleasants Valley Iris Farm, which carries it, but alas is sold out for this season.

Here is a link that might be useful: Grape Snakez

That bloom is absolutely stunning, I have a few very similar, love the speckling. Hope you find it again.

The other one I would consider as an ID is 'Gnu's Flash'.
It's beard looks to be more of a match.
