Charlie, the Violet Podded Pole seed you sent me have been very productive and had the longest production of any snaps I planted this year, except Dade. I didn't at all mind the strings. Saving seed and will definitely plant next time.

Fine Looking beans, Charlie. We are just now planting our beans.

Shuffles, many of the finest snap beans have strings and are eaten at the "full" stage when the seeds are mature. - Dick

Shuffles I do not understand why they have strings as the proper name of that bean is Violet Podded Stringless
I maybe growing an imposter, however I do not recall strings in them last year
Mine are loaded with small pods and should be ready to pick in a few days
Dade is also loaded with small pods
Dick I was worried that I had planted too late as the temps are slowly easing up each day

Charlie,
That's why I mentioned the strings. They were only stringless when very young. We didn't pick many at that stage. They were all tasty.
Dick,
We planted Lazy Wife this year. They didn't do well but the few we got were also very tasty.

This will most likely be our last batch of snap beans
The temps have been well over 90 and pollination seems to have come to a screaming halt
We should however have plenty left for seed and the shell beans, cowpeas, limas and yard longs are looking good.

Great looking beans. My little plants are starting to climb.

I was talking with someone in Kentucky who told me that he plants in April/May and harvests in July and then he immediately replants for two complete rounds. Can you do that there?

Thanks Richard
Most poles are filled
I plant buttereans, cowpeas and yardlong on the other side of the poles that the pole beans are on
I did replant Emerite and Goose yesterday as I had a bad stand because I planted too early
Your Neon Goose is doing real well, however they have not turned red -pink yet.
