Will my tiger lily die?

shelli563(zone 6 MA)April 20, 2008

I had a tiger lily that was showing about 4" of growth. Today, it was stepped on and the stem broke to just above the ground. Will the plant continue to grow or will it die?

In my experience, if there was only one stem, then it will not grow this year. The bulb is not dead though; it will return next year.
