First of the Trumpets

The Asiatics and their LA hybrids are winding down. Here's the first trumpet to bloom, Regal, which was my mother's fav.

Naturally everybody else wants to crowd into the picture, too.

Nell, what cultivar is that? Congrats on your success. These trumpets, especially the species, are huge and difficult plants.

Just regular ol' regale (species) lily, shic.

African Queen Strain is just starting to bloom. Here they are from a prior year:

Lilies are demanding about soil and nutrients. They're definitely not 'plant and forget' bulbs.
