House flies around seedlings

cameraApril 1, 2012

I have flies (not fungus gnats, but house flies) buzzing around my seed starting station. Never had that before. Anyone ever encounter this?

I have. I don't think they'll bother your plants, but they can bother you. I got rid of them with old fashioned sticky fly tape. If you have organic matter in your potting mix that can attract them. If your seedlings are far enough along, let the soil surface dry out between waterings.
