Pineapple lily

lovelycherry(Z7 Long Island)June 14, 2007

Saw some at my local Home Depot.. on 40% off sale.

Wondering if they are hardy in zone 7. I looked aroud the internet but couldn't find anything.

If I have to lift them in the fall I don't think I will buy them, I might forget them.

Nancy zone 6

I have some that have come back 3 or 4 years now. One is not even in a very protected area. I'm thinking they are hardy in zone 7.

Generally considered marginally hardy in zone 7, like many bulbs with South African origin. Full sun and very well-drained soils should help with the success of overwintering. These are also excellent container plants that are easily stored over winter in less mild areas.
