Bonfire

Has anyone had this hosta around for any length of time? I was just looking at it today and thinking how very pretty those speckled red petioles are.

Do they stay like that?

Where did you get this plant from? It's not listed on the AHS registry nor is it in the Library. It might be newly registered.

A google search reveals that this is a newly registered variety that was introduced by Marco Fransen from the Netherlands. It's carried by Naylor Creek, perhaps that's where you got it. It's the all green sport of Paradise Island. Those red petioles like most will stay that way throughout the season. The red should work it's way a few inches up into the middle leaf vein as the Hosta matures.

I did get it from NC, via the Library Auction. I guess I hadn't paid attention to the fact that it was new when I asked if anyone had it. I am looking forward to watching it progress...
