do my sugar snap peas have a problem?

green_guisador(9 NV)June 22, 2008

My sugar snap pea seed's rooter seems to have something growing on it. Am I in trouble? Do I need to get this thing out of the system? Help me out, the pictures are in the link!

Thanks in advance!

Green, how are your peas doing? Did they sprout?

they didn't. i got them out of my dome. the rooters i was using must have kept the peas too wet, cause they just wanted to rot instead of sprout.

i'm thinking i just need to go back to the paper towel method for germinating peas=)

Sorry about the rot; hope it didn't destroy too many of your good seeds. I have had no luck with those pop-uppers myself and at one time wasted many a good bean seed on them. They suffered the same fate as your peas.

Germinating peas on wet paper towels is a good tried-and-true method. Hope in a few months you'll have lots of delicious ppods.

it was actually a fortunate occurance, looking at it from a certain perspective. ALL of the peppers I sowed germinated, so I'm scrambling to build another hydro system to accomodate them as it is. I wouldn't have even known what to do if the peas made it.

I'll sprout those peas once my pepper crop is canned and I've got space for ppods!
