I planted bush blue lake beans and they are vining everywhere. Why? Is this normal?

Sometime bush beans will send up short bloom spikes, but if Blue Lake is actually vining, you got the pole type.

I'm having the same issue with some of my Pencil Pod wax beans. Some of them have a flower spike that's probably 3-4 feet long and they are twining around my hardneck garlic that's planted next to them.
