Is this a Lily seed??

trfanaticJune 27, 2009

I tried to use the search function to determine this but was unsuccessful. This is what was leftover after the flower petals died.

I appreciate your help, thanks.

No, that's the pod. If the petals just recently dropped off the seeds won't have developed yet. If there are fertilized embryos inside the pod it will remain green and over time will grow in size. If there aren't any fertilized embryos inside this pod will turn yellow soon, and then shrivel and fall off.

If the seeds within the pod are fertile, the pod should turn to an upright position. If it is still hanging (1C) then likely infertile.
