Iris are amazing

chere(7)September 14, 2008

I just looked at some rhizomes a gopher ate. The bottom half of it was gone. Will one is sending out roots and the other is producing babies. I mean they look like there was no hope for them but I decided to put them back in the soil and if they don't make it they can just rot and go back into the ground.

Sometimes hollowing a mother rhizome will cause more increase. Same thing can happen when a borer hollows it out.
