effect of disbudding on bulbs

oliveoyl3July 10, 2012

I've heard that when bulbs are disbudded they increase in size because they're not putting energy into blooming. Then following year they are taller & have more blooms.

Anyone have experience with disbudding Asiatic lilies? The deer have done if for me in the backyard.

growers often do this with immature lilies so yours should be OK as long as the majority of the foliage remained intact, to die down naturally.
