2nd crop of green beans on same plants

I read somewhere on this forum about cutting down green beans after they are through producing. You add fertilizer then water. Not sure where I read this. Wondering how much to cut off.

I tried it on one row and pulled and replanted the other two. I wasnt impressed with the row I mowed, fert and watered. The rows I replanted I had a generous amount of beans. If you have at least 70 before a frost then plant a short dtm like contender. I always spray the frost off the beans to extend the harvest.
