Transplant question

Judithw(z7TN)July 19, 2005

Can I move a lily right now, while it's in flower? The rest of the time I can't FIND it...

Put a plant label in the soil right next to the stem now. The cheap white plastic ones are good because they're easy to see once the surrounding vegetation has died down in the Fall.

That's a good suggestion, Helen, but it doesn't really answer my original question. CAN I transplant NOW???

Yes.

Just be careful to move it with as much soil as possible and give it plenty of TLC afterwards.

If you can wait a few weeks, until the stems are beginning to go over, that would be a better time but they can be transplanted in full bloom and not miss a beat.
