12 ft tall lucky bamboo

supremelemFebruary 5, 2007

Hi all,

I've had a single stalk of the lucky bamboo, Dracaena Sanderiana, for over 5 year now. It is now 11 feet tall and I'd like to know if there is a way to curl it in a spiral as it has far exceeded my ceiling clearance. I have not had much luck on the Internet on suggestions for curling/spiraling the plant after it's already grown. It's very thin and malleable. Perhaps I could train it by tying it along a curved dowel? I love this particular plant and I would like to avoid cutting it. I've done it before and the bottom portion I severed died. I would appreciate any suggestions/advice on this matter.

There's many ways to curl it.
Make a concentrated light source and twist the plant 45 degrees every inch it grows towards the light. You can make a tighter curl or a wider one, depending on how long you let it grow before rotating it. Good luck, and PLEASE, POST A PICTURE!!!!!!!!!
