Root runners from leaves?

TheCheese909May 17, 2013

Today I noticed two roots coming from the leafy bit that just shot out over night. I was wondering if it was trying to create a new stalk, like how Swords tend to grow little leaflets and send out little root runners or what it's trying to do.. I wouldn't mind letting it grow down into the gravel and create another plant.

Yes, it is in an aquarium.. I've had it for almost two years and I do check it often to make sure it's not rotting or anything like that. It's in good shape and has been a good plant.

I've also got some string algae that has just bloomed, I'm sure you can see it there on the decoration in the background as well as a little bit on the actual Bamboo. I'm working on getting that cleaned up, so no worries there.

Any information would be helpful, thank you! :)

So it is living under water? And it grows normally? Interesting, I didn't know they can grow under water too.
