How tall is Tom Pounce?

linnea56(z5 IL)November 5, 2008

When I bought and planted it this spring the package said it would be 36". Obviously it did not reach that this year (more like a foot, but it did bloom and was very lovely). Now this fall in some catalogs I have run across references to it being a short, border, or miniature lily. One even said that the name "Tom Pounce" is a British version of the fairytale character "Tom Thumb".

I could not find it on DaveÂs Garden (or nothing that mentioned height). I google searched it but found conflicting information. If it really is short or a miniature I need to move it. It is planted amid several normal height Orientals.

Just checked the package and it is "Tom Pouce" not "Tom Pounce"! I did then look under Tom Pouce but still found conflicting heights.

The height depends on many factors: how well the lily is established (first year lilies are shorter), how much sun does it get, etc. It is definitely not dwarf though. I'd say 3-3.5' average.
