early contender bush bean

obrionusa(5)October 11, 2008

I planted some early contender beans for fall and the beans have black streaks down the bean. Is this normal for this type of bean?

It happens once in a while under adverse weather conditions, to several cultivars of bush bean. Usually a slight purple striping. Contenders will do it under adverse conditions as the beans mature. Usually tho, they look like this.
