What on earth is this attached to my maple branch?

brichFebruary 25, 2013

I was cleaning up my japanese maple tree yesterday and came across this tiny branch, lined tightly with two rows of what appear to be some kind of larvae. Anyone know what I'm looking at here?

That is terrible advice wihout knowing what they are. Although Katydid eat leaves don't they also eat insects like aphids?
