Annual flowers

What are some good annuals for a "new to flowers" grower?

marigolds and zinnias are easy to grow, or at least for me. Last year, I did some winter sowing of several varieties, some came up easily and some didn't. Check that forum out before next winter.

Salvias are really nice cut flowers, yarrow is wonderful but not an annual, but one of my favorite cut flowers.

Are we talking cut flowers? Zinnias and cosmos are great. Glads are easy too and sweet peas depend on how cool it is. Those are my favorites. Nigella and Bachelor's buttons are easy. A big part of my bouquets are sunflowers and sunchoke blossoms.

Yes. Cut flowers. We have a small market and no one does them. I don't have room right now to do starts but maybe next year.
