Hi Folks -
I am seeking opinions on the Acer japonicum cultivar with the largest leaves.
My nomination would be 'Attaryi', which produces huge (upto 12" across) dissected leaves, much like 'Aconitifolium' on steroids :-)
Wood's #2 get's my vote for now though there's another named 'Giant Moon' which I understand is very large. I have a few specimens of 'Attaryi' and while my plants are young, the leaves on my specimens aren't especially large.
I'd love photos here and will post some of my own as Spring moves along.
'Giant Moon' and 'Yama kagi' take the prize in my garden.
Well, I eat crow. New leaves on 'Attaryi'.
'Woods #2'. Both are monsters, but the Attaryi leaves must be 8-9" wide. Wow!
