Shishio vs Chishio

flowerchild59(z6b IL)April 9, 2011

I bought shishio improved but keep seeing a maple spelled chishio improved. Are these the same maple but mispelled and which spelling is the proper one?

Both spellings are used for the same maple. Vertrees/Gregory 2001 use 'Chishio Improved' for the heading under which the tree is described.
