The Future of the GOP...Please

labrea_gwMarch 6, 2012

I can dream can't I.

"If You've Had Pre-Marital Sex, You Can't Be A Republican...from County rights, States rights grow!

I believe Bryan Fischer & the Evangelical right should pursue this course of action..

You must favor, and live up to, abstinence before marriage.

You must be faithful to your spouse. Your spouse cannot be a person of the same gender, and you are not allowed to favor any government action that would allow for civil unions of people of the same sex.

You cannot now, from the moment you sign this pledge, look at pornography.

Yah just gotta love these freaks of faith! Wouldn't this be great if it took off I'd like Oklahoma or Louisiana one of those faith & funny stuff states to adopt this!

Here is a link that might be useful: AMAZING CONDOM

I saw this on MSNBC tonight. Cracked me up. I guess they'll be short GOP candidates.

I think that it's enough to just make them sign a pledge that if you are a conservative, married, middle aged politician who has children and presents yourself as a good, family man critical of those awful, scandalous liberal values, then you just CANNOT, under ANY conditions whatsoever! have a homosexual relationship - not with a long term hidden lover and not playing footsies to indicate a request for just an anonymous quickie in an airport bathroom, either.

(And then go on tv surrounded by your wife of 30+ years and grown children with kids of their own with a decorated christmas tree in the background, all shown "family style" in your private living room during the local television interview, just to prove that ohyesIamTOO straight! See?)

Baby steps. Let them start with baby steps and then see how it goes.

Since so many marriages end in divorce, which clearly impacts family values, neither should they have divorces.

The republican's continue to exclude one group after another.
It seems that it is really just the party for straight white males now. They don't even like women .

New Fox news poll shows only 14% support among Latinos for all 3 republican candidates.

Since my husband is a registered republican, we've been inundated with robo calls the last few days from Santorum and one from John Ashcroft for Romney.
Santorum's calls are entirely about social issue, planned parenthood being a vehicle for abortion etc etc
Never a mention of a jobs plan in those calls
Santorum will take this state.

My husband has filled out a change of registration, but I told him I'm reluctant to mail it since I would miss all those calls. They are quite entertaining and they really let you know about their agenda.
He hasn't voted R in quite a few years , but had been resistant to changing his registration until this year .
His comments, "they have truly lost their way and are not likely to find their way back in my lifetime"

Seriously? Another "pledge" to sign? The party will run out of ink and paper before they run out of no-no's.

Hello... it's called adapting to normal social and cultural changes. Why religions refuse to go there is beyond me. Stagnation never did anything good but breed pond scum.

This brand well you can watch it on this forum there's no excess it will not find away of supporting or at least remaining silent about.

Yep a [problem with the brand full of toxins fro the culture & economy so filled with it consuming need to win at all costs.

Lena's GOP translator would be funny if it weren't so true.

A few that might be included if the translator is ever revised:

"Political Correctness" = we are tired of speaking in code and using dog whistles

"Personal Responsibility" = because we're stuck with political correctness, we can't tell you what this really means

I was talking to my neighbor (older guy, very Republican) last night about the primary today. I reminded him to go vote today and said that I had voted for Ron Paul in early voting last week. He knows I'm a liberal so he wanted to know why I picked him particularly over the other guys.

I said "because he's the one guy that doesn't want to tell what to do in my own bedroom". He laughed but then wanted to know what I meant. So I said it's odd how the Republicans want smaller government and to keep government out of a lot of private decisions ... until it comes to telling people who they can have sex with, if they can get birth control or an abortion, etc.

He paused and then said thoughtfully "You know, I never thought of it that way."

"You know, I never thought" could be the GOP motto...

As people wake up they will lose more people and become a sad note in history. They will not change their ways and that is their doom. Many people do not follow politics as much as the people here but things are getting so out there that they cannot ignore them. There will be more informed voters as they keep trying to take rights away. I see no way they can reverse this process now.

"I see no way they can reverse this process now."

If by that, you mean the opening of eyes and the uncovering of what's really going on... I believe once Pandora's Box has been opened, there is no way to contain its contents and shut the lid. The GOP has been opening a lot of boxes lately, and the contents spilling out are not benefiting them in any way.

They are systematically alienating every group that has the right to vote. And the latest attacks on women in particular strike a very nasty chord.

I haven't the slightest idea why any woman would hand a vote to a Republican, though I know some still will. But the bottom line is that the GOP is in trouble... and more eyes open every day.

I think there is a plus side to having Pandora's box open and visible.

We were rudely awakened in Wisconsin in Feb 2011, others (re)gained consciousness with the OWS starting in late summer to fall, the Winter 2012 Susan Kommen attacks on Planned Parenthood and the current Rush slanders now have women (and the people who love them) back on their guard.

It may not be pleasant, but it is a positive and necessary thing to have one's eyes opened.

The GOPers have to sign pledges since they can never be trusted. As for their future? With some luck they won't have a future and just be history.

Oh, c'mon... you don't really think those pledges mean that much to most of them, do you? I'd bet my last dollar that a lot of those "moral" and "family value" type pledges will, or would, be broken over and over and over and over... until someone gets caught with their hand up the cookie jar's skirt, or down its pants. It's only a matter of time... true colors always show... some just take a little longer than others.

Oh sure it does it's leverage for gathering votes. As Swanz used to say We are all Sinners. Just get some fool to swear he isn't & the exploit the weakness.
