What is Rooting DC?
Rooting DC is a FREE, all-day gardening forum that aims to provide education about urban food production and consumption, to cultivate health and preserve the environment. The program includes dozens of interactive workshops, cooking and food preservation demonstrations, and panel discussions focusing on youth gardening, nutrition, sustainable growing techniques, and healthy food access. The event also hosts 50+ green businesses and nonprofit from throughout the region at an information fair.

Where and when is Rooting DC?
Rooting DC 2014 is March 1st from 8:30am-4pm at Wilson Senior High School.

How much does it cost to attend Rooting DC?
Attendance is free! This year we are hosting 4 for-fee workshops that provide you with a hands-on experience and a take home.

Do I need to pre-register?
Registration is recommended, but not required. If youd like to attend any of the 4 for-fee workshops, pre-registration is required. Registration opens February 1st. Reserve your spot at rootingdc.org

I've been to this event four or five times and always learn something new.
