Steve, I don't carry over my Brugs, just take cuttings in fall and put them in watering cans or cat litter pails to root in water. They take care of themselves all winter with just some more water and a sprinkle of soluble fertilizer now and then. When potted up in spring, they get going as soon the heat hits and grow just as large as the ones I used to carry over in pots. You may be able to take cuttings right now, put them in a bucket and they'll be rooted when you get back from your trip. My greenhouse roof collapsed from an iceberg from main roof hitting it last week, and those buckets of brug cuttings were the first things I grabbed :) They're just fine with the light they get in the house for now.
