Year Round in Minnesota

B.Kelley320March 7, 2013

Hi! My husband and I are hoping to get a (vegetable garden) greenhouse up and running this spring/summer. Our hopes are to maintain it year round. I was just wondering if any one has any suggestions? We have already found some really nice glass panels that we will be using for it and he has been reading about growing in gutters and mainly heating the plants from beneath, allowing the air temperature to be a little cooler (he also does heating and air conditioning work, so any suggestions on a furnace/heater would be great). Any of you do this?

Just wondering if there are any hints or suggestions!
Thanks so much!

I don't have any advice to offer you, maybe someone else will. I don't know where you're located but Dean Englemann of Tangletown Gardens Farm in Plato heats greenhouses for winter use. I THINK he may use solar but am not certain.
Good luck.
