Too soon to move things?

Is it safe to move perennials this early to a new place in the garden? I'm talking coneflowers and veronica mostly.

Heck, they are probably still dorment, if the ground is not frozen I would think it a good time to move them. But do not forget about water, it is awful dry and you will want to start them out right.

Yep- Ditto what Helen said. But I might add, I am a bit leery on moving just yet as I have many times sunk my shovel it what looks like the perfect place for a plant- only to discover too late there was a plant there already!
