Help name my Garden/Farm

nikki1977September 6, 2011

I started selling fresh herbs, cut flowers and veggies at the market this year, so fun! I was thinking of selling right from my home as well next year. I'm looking into all of that now, any tips much appreciated. I'm also racking my brain trying to name my little acre 'farm'. Something enchated sounding maybe? That's how people describe my backyard when they see it. We're also at the top of a hill. :) Thanks for any ideas!

If you only have an acre and people call it enchanting, how about Enchanted Acre?

Naming a farm is hard to do, one thing that I did after coming up with a few names, I did a web search to see if there may be another "xxxXX' in the same area or not.

That is hard to name a place. I was going to name ours Minogin Gardens. Minogin means 'it grows well' in Ojibwe.

We were also going to go with 'Farthingdale Market Garden' since a farthingdale is 1/4 acre, which is what we have.

Here is a link to other units of measure for land area:

Good luck!

p.s. We ended up calling it Sanford Market Garden - we live on Sanford St. and it is in the middle of the city, so we wanted to emphasize that we were an urban garden.
