Japanese Maple - Atlanta area?

What type of varietal should I get for the atlanta, GA area? Want to be sure I get the right one for my climate. thanks in advance!

Most Japanese Maples can succeed in Z8.

A lot depends on where you site the plant. Full sun, shade, wind exposure, irrigated etc.

They do best with protection from afternoon sun and winds in well draining soil.
