Abelia 'Kaleidoscope'

Has anyone had any experience with these locally? My biggest concern is water. They will be in partial but light shade. (I am decorating under a tree.) I have read that the color won't be as intense, but something is better than nothing. However, I do not want to plant something that will always look parched.

I don't have experience with it but I just checked it out and love it! Is it a slow grower?
