fried hosta?

hostahostaJuly 3, 2012

We have been on generator power since the storms of last Friday. Turns out that the exhaust was blowing right onto some of my hostas and I didn't realize until after two days. (Apparently we have never needed the generator during growing season in the past because these hosta have been in this location for 3-4 years.) So at 9:30 PM, in the near dark, I'm frantically digging and moving hosta to anywhere else I can find space. My question is: if all the foliage is burned to brown will the roots survive and give me a plant next year?

hostahosta,

My guess is that they will be fine..I have had them go dormant in extreme heat and then second flush when cooler temps and more water became available.
