Assasin bugs multi-tasking (pic)

aka_peggy(Central Md 6b)September 9, 2005

I've posted this on a couple of forums. Hopefully I won't get in trouble:) It's just such a cool picture.

This pair was found on my russian sage but there were 4 hanging out among the okra yesterday.

And if you grow okra you know that Japanese beetles love it. Nothing is more rewarding than

watching the assasin bugs devour J. beetles.

Now that, is a cool picture. I think I need to get me a few thousand assassin bugs. They don't eat any of the good bugs, do they?

Hi Suja, they probably do. I understand they'll even eat people, lol!
Actually they just bite but I've read that can pack a nasty bite.

Do you still have Japanese beetles? I saw a few stragglers a couple of weeks ago but I think they're all gone now.

Collectordi,

I haven't seen any for about a week now. And for a couple of weeks before that just a few stragglers, as you call them.
