I recently purchased this guy from a clearance rack for $6. No tag on it. I thought Lancifolia but it is blooming now and I thought that they bloom later. Any guesses? Thanks. Gail
In the first picture the lower leaf with the spent flower on it looks virused to me. You want to stay away from clearance racks. That's where diseased plants tend to end up. Don't put it in the ground.
Steve could this be just the water drops on the plant? Sometime clearance racks here mean they are just clearing out their summer stock and reduce to not have to repot or store them. Nice large plant anyway
Steve, looks like water and reflections to me.
With all the water, I can't tell what color the plant really is and whether there might be a small margin. It looks as if it could be Lancifolia. Check out the link the the library pic. There's also a decent description.
Here is a link that might be useful: Hosta Library - Lancifolia
If you download and enlarge the picture you can tell it's inkbleed, not just the water reflections. Look right above the spent flower. There are other spots that are questionable, but this one was most obvious.

Steve did as you said, I still think reflections. Looking at the non-wet leaves helps.
I took another picture with the leaf dry and it looks ok. Thanks for the concern though. You can never be too careful. I'm calling it Lancifolia until I can prove otherwise. The only reason I'm skeptical is that it is blooming now. Thanks all. Gail
