Need Lemon Tree

carmellia(z 4 Minn)July 24, 2007

Does anyone know of a garden center or florist in the general TC vicinity where I might find a lemon tree? I have found a few places on the internet, but the tree would have to come through the mail. I have reservations about what would be shipped and what condition it might arrive in. I'd like to see what I'm getting and escort it home myself. Then I have only myself to blame if anything happens to it.

I old cat, Sadie, died and I am putting in a little concrete platform over her grave. The potted lemon tree will sit on the platform for the summer months.

I don't usually do that sort of thing for pets, but she was with me for so long and lived through so much of my history with me, that I feel some note has to be taken. Thanks for any suggestions. Carmellia

I'm curious, why a lemon tree for a cat? Would she appreciate a year-round plant next to her marker, maybe even catnip?

I know that earlier this year Schulte's in St. Michael had a lemon tree or two. The phone number is 763-497-3747.

Good luck!

Thank you for your suggestion. It is probably a little too far though. According to MapQuest, 73 miles from where I live.

My Sadie cat never showed a preference for one plant or tree over another. The lemon was my idea. I have a Calamondin orange, and just love it. I've been wanting to try a lemon or lime for a while now. I have bought a lovely large pot that I will take in every winter. It is definitely a pot for a tree - very large. I like having plants that provide me with food. I made the best orange ice cream I have ever tasted with my Calamondins. Carmellia
