I have a pretty wet area near my garden area. I was thinking that a couple of pussy willows might work there?? I am new to gardening and to MO. Any advice??

Pussy willow or any willow loves wet soil. They are actually very easy to grow. Just stick a branch in the ground. It will take roots in no time. If you don't prune them, they will grow VERY big. Be aware that they seek moisture and can destroy your sewer line or septic tank, etc.

I have Pussy willow, Curly willow & Coral Embers willow. I keep them as shrubs by pruning them sharply each spring.

If I had room, I would plant River Birches. In fact, I planted a clump of dwarf River Birch in my tiny backyard. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they are true to name or I will end up having to cut them down later.

Good luck.:-)
