Beech Tree Seed

I'm looking for a Beech (Fagus grandifolia)to get some

nuts for seed. I live in southwestern Minnesota so I

am interested in trees on public grounds west of the cities. Anyone knowing the location of any other interesting rare native trees?

There is a beautiful one in the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum.

Beech nuts are a favorite wildlife food, so don;t tarry. Also, be aware that beeches don't produce many viable nuts, and those that survive animal forage must be planted right away. They dry out and die quickly.
