What are these mystery flowers?

jazzygardener(z4 MN)April 6, 2010

These beautiful little mystery flowers have once again popped up in my yard. However, I don't know what they are. They're in a partially shady area and only bloom for a short time. I'm in zone 4 Minnesota. They kind of look like a crocus. Though I'm wondering if they're from the wild ginger family. Does anyone know what they are?

Bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis). The sap from the root was used by Native Americans as a red dye.
