My best and biggest Hosta haul ever!

marta_in_qcJuly 13, 2014

Imagine my delight when I realized that Blooms Canada ( is local to me! In fact, it's an online business without a physical storefront, but when I placed an order, the owner, Leonard, allowed me to pick up rather than having them shipped.

So yesterday I picked up 27 (yes, twenty-seven!!!) new-to-me Hostas and got to visit Leonard's garden. I ordered 25 plants, was given a Hanky Panky as a gift, and took a Pathfinder rather than change (I paid cash).

Their hostas and prices are wonderful! I will be back with a new wish list!

Now I have go out and dig a LOT of holes! :o)

You didn't really think we wouldn't ask for a list, didja?

AFTER they're all planted, of course ;-)

I've already got some holes made, but it will take me a while to get most of them planted. First I have to look up their future sizes and sun/shade preferences, decide where to put them, and most likely in doing so I will want to swap out others, which will double the time-to-ground. I'm in no hurry. :o)

So in the meantime, here's the list of Saturday's big spree:
Hanky Panky (cutest bonus plant ever)
Pathfinder (wow! A "keep the change" plant)
June (completes my HOTY collection)
Victory (my HOTY is up to date for NEXT year!)
T Rex (one of my first wish list plants - I love GIANTS)
Love Pat
Blue Flame
Blue Shadows
Volcano Island
Rainbow's End
Delta Dawn
Color Glory
Tonoko Tachi
Tokudama Aureonebulosa
Emerald Ruff Cut
Grand Slam
Alex Summers
Pineapple Upsidedown Cake
Brim Cup
Abiqua Moonbeam
Imperial Palace
Summer Breeze
Sun Power
Prima Donna

I seriously feel like it's Christmas in July! :o)

I should really stay away from this forum.
Congrats on all your new aquisitions. Unfortunately, I saw your link and couldn't help myself.
I have just ordered 5 hostas. I suppose that's better than the dozen or so I had in my cart.
Was surprised at how few non variegated there were.
