Tree problem

budbudFebruary 9, 2014

First off sorry if this is in the wrong section.

hey i have a fejoia tree that has a trunk diameter of close to a meter - lucky i know.
BUT the tree is in the front and constantly attracts unwanted (unwelcome) guests (people) that trespass into our property - it grows more fruit then a small family like us even care to have anyways.

i was wondering if there was a way you could either inhibit the quantity of fruit, or shrink the tree (lol) , or just kill it off NATURALLY/with stuff around at home.(wouldnt mind as we could plant one this time in the back)

thanks in advance :)

Hi budbud,

You can prune the tree immediately after pollination each season, or you can apply chemicals that cause the flowers to abort before setting fruit. I don't personally know of any 'home brew' methods, but the folks in the Fruit and Orchard forum could probably offer more suggestions. Good luck!
