snowdrop sighting!

elhibJanuary 21, 2013

Snow drops are blooming in the Arnold Arboretum and in my backyard here in Boston, MA.

Seems early to me. Is it?

Who knows anymore? I would say off the top of my head that it does seem a few weeks early (maybe February is more normal?) but in the last few years I've had them blooming anywhere from November through February.

I actually looked for mine quickly the other day but there was still too much snow in that area to see anything. More snow tonight here, but I plan on checking again later this week.
