Louisiana Wildflower ID?

saintroadMay 5, 2012

I would be very pleased if someone could help identify this wildflower growing in a lot next to my home near Mandeville (southeast) Louisiana.

It only appears for a little while each year (unless they clear-cut the lot) --- I think it is a beautiful cluster.

Thanks for the help!
