I saw the Tomatomania message for White Flower Farm. I know that a lot of people ask about this here, so I thought I would put it up! More info at the link above.

That actually sounds like fun, Evonne. I think I am in a rut with going to the same nursery and buying the same tomato plants. Might be nice to shake things up a little. [g] Thanks for posting this.

I live not too far from White Flower Farm, but I have never attended Tomatomania. I am more of a flower grower. It does sound interesting though and I must might attend this year! I always hit their sale later in the year when they feature more flowers.

I noticed on the Tomatomania site that it is an event that occurs in several states. They have some dates up for CA and MD.

They call it the world's largest tomato seedling sale!

Whenever the subject of tomatoes comes up, I just have to tip folks off about
a wonderful, mail-order, tomato specialist buried in a rural backwater of New Jersey, not far from the Delaware River. Not only do they offer 175 varieties
of tomatoes, but also 50+ eggplants and 500 varieties of chile & sweet peppers!
For me, since I'm not too far away, the most fun is the annual trip to pick up my plants. . .and even if you're NOT going to buy plants online, enjoy a look at their website: it's delicious. . .

While we're talking tomatoes, I'm curious how many NEForum members grow their own vegetables? And if so, what are some of your favorites?

Since we first started vegetable gardening, the neighboring trees have grown taller and we have less sun and so a smaller vegetable garden. But we have enough room for the basics. Some of our favorites....

Tomato Sungold still our #1
Greenbean Trionfo Violetto a purple pole bean
Asparagus Jersey Giant
Broccoli Green Goliath

I am in a little rut with the vegetables, but this year I am going to put a little more effort into it. Time to start deciding what to grow. Has anyone visited the Cornell website, Best Vegetable Varieties? I love reading what everyone's favorites are. I find new things to try every year. You can also vote for your favorites.

I hope everyone is ready to make recommendations based on what happened to tomatoes in the garden last summer too.
